Anise Hyssop

from $5.00

(Agastache foeniculum)
Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.

This is hands-down our favorite native plant at The Wild Patch. It puts out gorgeous, non-stop lavender blooms from mid-July to mid-Oct and it’s always covered with Swallowtail butterflies, Monarchs, hummingbirds and bees. It usually blooms its first year and has aromatic leaves and strong upright stems that gently sway in the breeze, adding graceful movement to the garden. Wild Bergamot is a clump forming perennial that’s very easy to grow. It matures to 4' tall, thrives in full to part sun, is quite drought tolerant and pretty much takes care of itself. It makes the perfect addition to a meadow or butterfly or sensory garden and looks great as an accent plant or planted en masse. And though we think it smells heavenly, the deer and rabbits do not.

(Note: Now accepting orders for Fall — shipping begins Sept 1 . For local customers, plants available now-Sept 30 for local pick-up. Seeds ship year-round.)

Most of these plants enjoy similar growing conditions and are great nectar sources for butterflies and bees, which will also love your Anise Hyssop flowers.
