We believe stewardship is an ongoing conversation with the land.

We provide native habitat restoration and land stewardship planning services because we believe true conservation isn’t passive — it’s active. When we leave the land unattended, invasives move in and the balance of native plants and the wildlife they sustain fades. By removing what overwhelms and replanting what belongs — we help restore harmony, allowing both local and migratory species to return and thrive.

We are stewards of 30 acres of conservation land.

The Wild Patch was founded from a deep passion for conservation and the wildlife that call this place home. We care for 30 acres of private conservation land in partnership with the USDA NRCS — acres that were severely neglected for more than 20 years and overtaken by invasive plants that crowded out native species.

Today, this land buzzes with renewal. Pollinators hum, birds soar, waterfowl fish and mammals and reptiles move through the recovering habitat. Bit by bit, we’re restoring balance by removing invasives and replanting the regionally appropriate natives that create food, shelter and sanctuary for all who depend on this land.

We are also focused on expanding local ecotype natives, especially ones on the Massachusetts threatened species list, tending the soil, the plants and the rhythms of nature. The work is ongoing — and we have miles to go before we rest.

We help you restore balance, one patch at a time.

We help municipalities, landowners and land trusts restore and protect native habitats through ecological land management, native plant restoration and conservation planning.

Our consulting work focuses on removing invasive species and replanting with native trees, shrubs, and plants that rebuild the natural web of life. We design with ecology in mind — creating habitats that provide food and shelter for the wildlife that belong there.

We also consider timing, ensuring that plantings align with seasonal cycles, returning species and fall migrations. From installing pollinator patches that support threatened native species to selecting trees and shrubs that advance the land’s ecological goals, our work helps every conservation land thrive as part of its own ecosystem, as well as the larger one.

We provide conservation consulting throughout Massachusetts and the greater New England region.

Our services give your land what it needs to thrive.

Our process is simple and thoughtful. We begin with a conversation, walk the land together and develop a plan that aligns with your goals and the ecological character of your site. We can then guide implementation or provide ongoing support as your landscape evolves. This work is not about control, but collaboration — with the land as it is and as it can become.
